About Drea

seeker of adventure. Storyteller. photographer.

Why did I start this podcast?

“I was maybe 7 years old and we were in the car passing this mountain.  All I wanted to do, was to get to the top.  I didn’t even know what that meant but everything in me wanted to experience whatever that was.”

This is me.  Through and through.  From such a young age, I felt such a proclivity to mountains.  I did not come from a family of climbers, hikers or campers.  I came from a family mostly raised in the Philippines.  We ate pancit, adobo and loved seafood!  We were the traditional Filipino, sea level lovin’ kind of people.  We were definitely not the “let’s make home in a tent for a night” “climb to that mountaintop”  “off roading trail seeker” vagabonds.

But at the ripe age of 19, I was introduced to the world of the outdoors and of course, I fell in love. How could you not?  It’s a beautiful world we live in.  Why not experience it from the comforts of a nice sleeping pad, comfy sleeping bag and tent.  Yes,  I made mistakes. I almost died a few times.  I learned from those mistakes.  I grew and will continue growing.   I’ve had elevation sickness countless times, you wouldn’t even believe it. And yet, here I am…. I can’t stop the obsession.  The need to breathe in that mountain air, or experience the solitude of that dry desert, is everything that feeds me.

Now don’t get me wrong.  I also really love to travel to different countries because I love to get tossed into the midst of an entirely new culture, taste new food, and experience a sparkly new way of living.  I am a nomad at heart, a wild, wild soul, an explorer.

I started realizing that there were many more like me.  And it’s my mission to connect the world to these adventure seekers like myself, the nomads of this world, the wild, wild souls – may it be for leisure or profession that takes you far, far away.

Stay Wild,

Drea
